Healthcare providers can share information about your health electronically and thus improve the quality of care. Sharing your medical information is only allowed if it is necessary for your treatment. And only if you have given your prior consent. This is called 'opt-in'. Don't want your details to be shared? Then indicate 'NO' in your consent. That is called 'opt-out'. You have to give permission for each healthcare provider yourself. Do you obtain medicines from two different pharmacies?
